Flying the flag for Filton

The group are currently looking to recruit new members

A newly formed dance and flag display group from Filton are celebrating their success after coming runners up in a competition last weekend which featured groups from across the country.
“North Bristol Independent Colour Guard” was formed in the summer of 2019 and are currently in their first competitive year of “winterguard” an American style activity which combines flag spinning, dance and choreography.
The competition, held at the Wise Campus of SGS College, saw 19 groups take part from all over the country, performing routines in front of a packed audience as well as a panel of experienced judges.
The Filton based group, whose ages range from 7-12, performed their routine to music from “Matilda the Musical” and were delighted to achieve second place in their class.
They are now looking forward to the winterguard national finals which will be held in Worcester on Saturday 28th March.
The group are currently looking to recruit new members for next season and anyone who is interested should email nbicolourguard@gmail.com or phone 07889 409012.
