A Morrisons M Local supermarket is expected to open on Gloucester Road North this month, bringing with it around 20 new jobs, the Filtonvoice understands.
The ‘M local’ sign is already in place, and it is understood members of the public will be able to use the store, on the site of the old Texaco garage, from January 19.
The overall development, reported to encompass around four other retail units, has been built in place of the petrol garage which was demolished last April.
Morrisons development executive Simon Finlay said: “We are delighted to bring a Morrisons M local store to Filton. M local’s focus on providing a great value fresh food offer to the communities we serve and this store will create around 20 new jobs.”
Morrisons communications manager, Sarah Atta said: “We are delighted to confirm that our new Morrisons M Local will open at Gloucester Road North in the next few weeks. M Local stores focus on providing great value fresh foods to the communities they serve and this store has created around 20 new jobs for local people. Whilst shoppers wait for the store to open, Bristol residents will be able to order from Morrisons online delivery service.”
