Filton GP branch set for closure by June

Filton is set to lose another service after it was announced that the Concord medical Centre branch surgery on Gloucester Road North is set for closure.

The practice is an offshoot of the main surgery in Stoke Lodge, with around 1,500 registered patients at this Filton sub-branch. In ocusments seen by Filtonvoice, NHS South Gloucestershire has received a request from Concord to close the Filton sub-branch.

It is understood Concord has received notice from the landlord of the premises, a large residential style building, to vacate the premises hich is eamarked by the owner for change of use.

In recent months, Filton residents have seen shop closures, the imminenet loss of the police station to Patchway, doubt over the Shield Road health centre, the imminent closure of Newleaze House sheltered housing and the end of operations at the airfield
